The US Open attracted nearly 300 men and women bowlers from 12 countries and took place Nov 12-17 in Sarasota and Sun City Center, FL. Asheville bowlers Hans Momkes, Jon Peele and Steve Nelson competed in Singles, Pairs and Fours events in the six day event. Momkes and Peele were teammates except for singles. In fours, Momkes and Peele's fours team battled back to the final of the 5th flight. Nelson and his pairs partner, John Kirkwood, from Mt. Dora FL placed 2nd in the 2nd flight of the pairs event (6th of 64 teams).
